The Heroes subdue an old man and surround a surrendering dragonborn with swords at the ready. What will the dragon hating paladin do?
This adventure was great for me because it really got us back into the role-playing of our characters. While we spent months chasing around a stupid map-making kit, none of us were doing anything remotely related to our characters and the larger story. And then we found Lasarker.
Now we’re robbing an evil man with a penchant for sorcery while fighting a dragonborn, forcing Cendia to face some of her innate prejudices. Not only that, by the end of the episode, Claire and Taruil learn a shocking secret that sets them back on their paths. It’s been great fun getting to dig deep into the role-playing aspect of our characters and seeing the story move forward in some interesting and unexpected ways.
