Over the past few months we’ve had several people ask us how they could support our adventures. Well today we’ve launched our Patreon so that we can make even more and better videos.
When we first started putting this project together 2 years ago, we never expected such a great community to build up around it. We’ve grown to not only love Dungeons and Dragons but to love being a part of this community and sharing the fun we have with everyone. We want to keep making these videos and to even make more videos to celebrate our shared love of the game and the characters we’re creating.
What a lot of people may not realize is just how much work goes into each episode. For “A War in Scarlet,” we shoot for 3 to 6 hours at a time and then edit it all down to the highlights. With all of the editing, graphics, posting, optimizing, etc, each video can take 40+ hours to finish up. Add the work for “The Dominion of Essalund” in the mix and it get hard to make our schedule, what with us all having day jobs and other work. Not to mention the fact that our lights are barely staying together and our cameras and microphones are just as beaten up. So we could use some help just maintaining the status quo.
But we’re not satisfied with the status quo. We want to do even more and have even more fun. We want to make fun videos about our adventures and we want to make them as high a quality as we can. That means things like getting armor made for Abby to play Cendia in a video. That means getting some great cinematographers and gaffers to come in and help us shoot skits and more. We may even want to make some puppets.
